Brindle Distillery, proud producers of award-winning Cuckoo Gin, are looking to crown a member of the public, the ultimate gin distilling champion through their Workshop Experience, with the introduction of their inaugural Gin Workshop Masters competition.

The Workshop Experience

A consistent hit with visitors to the distillery, the Brindle Distillery Workshop Experience has been running for over four years, contributing to the distillery’s success in achieving Trip Advisor Travellers’ Choice and Lancashire Tourism Awards in 2022.

A Workshop Experience offers members of the public the unique opportunity to learn about the gin distilling process, botanicals and other ingredients that come together to make a gin.

Participants use their new-found knowledge to create their very own recipe, distilling it in a mini copper pot still before decanting their gin into an exclusive Workshop bottle to take home and share with friends. All in the delightful surroundings of a real working distillery.

At the conclusion of the experience, the Workshop host tastes each gin produced and declares an overall winner for the night. This year, the distillery will be taking this idea a step further.

The Making of a Workshop Master

Each month between March 2023 and February 2024, from all of the individual Workshop winning gins produced by the public, the Workshop Experience hosts and Master Distiller, Mark Long, will decide upon a winner for the month.

All 12 monthly winners will then be given the opportunity to return to the distillery later in the year to face off in the Gin Workshop Masters Final, what will no doubt prove to be a tantalising battle of botanical boffinry.

The ultimate victor will be crowned Gin Workshop Master 2023 and will see their competition-winning gin recipe produced in a limited-edition run, which will go on sale to the general public.

Calling All Gin Geniuses

While taking the spoils won’t be easy, for all you aspiring gin distillers out there – and for anyone who fancies a fun night out with a difference – thankfully, taking part is!

Simply book on to a Workshop Experience at Brindle Distillery, where you will be given an inspiring insight into Brindle Distillery and Cuckoo Gin, followed by all the gin making tuition you need. Throughout the experience, you will be treated to five different and delicious G&Ts, nibbles, exclusive discounts on Cuckoo products and of course, a bottle of your gin to take home in an exclusive Workshop bottle.

If your gin is a winner on the night and goes on to become the table topping Workshop gin for the month, you will be invited back for a free Workshop Experience, in the form of the Workshop Masters Final. The rest is up to you…
