Sloedown Gin was created as a reminder that sometimes, we just need to slow down a little. Initially launched during the 2020 Covid lockdowns, most of us spent more time at home. More time with family. More time with ourselves. Long walks for daily exercise reminded us of the importance of looking after our wellbeing. Video calls with family and friends brought us closer together, despite the distance. Our 2024 limited edition sees the addition of British Red Grapes, transforming our Slowdown gin into a deeper, richer and more rounded Gin.

FLAVOUR PROFILE
Jammy. Fruity. Sweet.
Using our Sunshine Gin – before it’s Honey and Raspberry soak – as a base, we have infused this 2024 Limited Edition Cuckoo Gin with Sloes that are picked locally from Brindle, Wheelton and Whittle-le-Woods. British Red Grapes are added along with Blackberries and Honey from our very own bees at Holmes Farm. Still punchy, ‘ginny’ and proper at 39% ABV, the result is a truly handmade Sloe Gin that is honest, local and bursting with autumnal flavour.
Nose
Deep, complex tannin from red grapes, meet vibrant sloes for a slightly bitter aromatic experience.
Palate
Sloedown gin is a balanced palate made by the smooth sweetness of honey, and juicy fruitiness of the berries. Creates a harmonious taste experience.
Finish
Provides a lingering sensation of richness, subtle sweetness, and a touch of fruity delight.

Blackberries
Blackberries offer a burst of sweetness that is often balanced by a pleasant tartness. They have a unique tangy undertone.
Sloeberries
Sloeberries have a very tart and astringent flavor, which can be quite intense. Their taste is often described as sour and bitter, with a sharpness.
Honey
Honey showcases a natural and sweet taste, with floral and caramelised notes that add depth and richness, creating a delicious and golden flavours.

Ingredients
Serves 1
50ml Cuckoo Sloedown Gin
Fever-Tree Indian Tonic
Cinnamon Stick
Fresh Blackberries
Method
Serve a double measure of Cuckoo Sloedown Gin over ice in a hi ball or balloon glass. Add Indian or Mediterranean Tonic, Mix with the Cinnamon Stick and leave it in the glass. Garnish the top with a couple of fresh Blackberries. Hunker down, grab a blanket and enjoy some ‘me’ time.
Sloedown Gin Fizz

125ml Prosecco or Champers (ice cold)
